Placing Satisfied Attorneys
Since 1997
Selective and Satisfied
Trense Group places attorneys nationwide, serving major markets from Seattle to Miami and population centers in between. While we maintain a particular focus on the Southeast (including Atlanta, the Carolinas, and Florida), the Midwest, and the Pacific Northwest, we work with clients and candidates across all U.S. markets. Our ability to source and place attorneys is not limited by geography; the absence of a physical office in each city does not restrict our reach. Our flexible business model enables us to respond effectively to the needs of exceptional clients and candidates wherever they are or wherever they aspire to be.
For nearly three decades, Trense Group has delivered consistent results for both law firm and in-house candidates. A cornerstone of our success is our highly personalized and responsive approach.
We invest the time necessary to understand each candidate’s professional experience, objectives, and priorities. This depth of insight allows us to present attorney candidates in a materially differentiated manner — one that anticipates the needs of hiring decision-makers and distinguishes Trense Group candidates from others in the marketplace.
By truly knowing our candidates, we add value in two critical respects. First, we enhance their likelihood of securing interviews and offers through thoughtful positioning and strategic presentation. Second, we equip them to evaluate opportunities with clarity and confidence, enabling well-informed decisions when weighing competing offers.
We believe that an attorney’s highest and best use is the practice of law — not conducting a time-consuming job search. With nearly three decades of legal recruiting experience and hundreds of successful placements, Trense Group has a deep understanding of what legal employers seek.
From resume refinement and interview preparation to strategic follow-up and negotiation guidance, we help our candidates distinguish themselves at every stage of the process and compete from a position of strength.
Associates
The firms with which we most frequently work typically seek candidates with distinguished large-firm credentials. In most cases, these employers expect applicants to have graduated in the top 20% of their law school class from a well regarded law school and to have participated in Law Review and/or Moot Court.
That said, if you possess an exceptional background that does not neatly align with this profile, we encourage you to contact us. Distinctive experience, demonstrated expertise, or a compelling professional trajectory may merit consideration notwithstanding traditional benchmarks.
Because our focus is on attorneys with large-firm credentials and experience, many of the candidates we represent are fully capable of securing opportunities independently. What they value, however, is informed, strategic guidance — counsel
that helps them evaluate options thoughtfully and avoid costly missteps at critical inflection points in their careers.
At Trense Group, we specialize in aligning expectations and opportunities to achieve the strongest possible match. If you would welcome an objective and confidential consultation, we invite you to call, text, or email. All inquiries are handled with the
utmost discretion.
Associates
The firms that we typically work with desire candidates with large firm credentials. The vast majority of these firms expect to interview candidates who graduated in the top 20% of their law school class and had law review and/or moot court experience.
If you have an exceptional background that does not necessarily fit this highly selective profile, please contact us as well.
Because we focus on placing attorneys who possess large firm credentials, many of our candidates don’t require the assistance of a recruiter to find a job. Rather, they need a recruiter to inform their decision and assist them in avoiding a mistake.
At Trense Group, we specialize in managing the expectations of our candidates to achieve the best match. If you are interested in an objective consultation, please text, call, or email. All inquiries will remain strictly confidential.
Partners
Most of the partners we represent manage substantial books of business. Their highest and best use is practicing law and serving clients — not navigating the complexities of identifying and securing the most desirable firm offer. While they remain focused on their practices, we provide strategic guidance on career options, positioning, and market dynamics. We help them maximize their market value through thoughtful presentation and by negotiating for the compensation, resources, and structural terms that are most important to their practice and long-term well-being.
Trense Group has refined a disciplined process for presenting partner candidates in a manner that captures the attention of the most selective and desirable firms. We understand both what our client firms seek and how their hiring processes operate. As a result, we consistently position candidates to move efficiently through what might otherwise be a fragmented and time-intensive process.
Having completed numerous successful partner placements, we are well positioned to advise you on your current market value and the steps necessary to enhance it further.
An effective legal search firm creates meaningful leverage for its candidates. We prepare partners to negotiate from a position of strength — often by cultivating multiple opportunities or strategically leveraging an initial offer to generate additional competitive interest.
Recruiters are also able to advocate firmly on issues that candidates may be reluctant to raise directly, thereby preserving important long-term professional relationships.
With three decades of experience, we provide clear guidance not only on what to expect, but also on what to avoid. The rewards and risks of partnership can vary significantly from one firm to another — even among firms that appear similar on the surface — and informed decision-making is critical at this level.
In-House
High-quality in-house opportunities are among the most sought-after roles in today’s legal market. Accordingly, securing such a position can be exceptionally challenging— particularly without the guidance of an experienced and well-connected recruiter.
Trense Group has a deep understanding of what in-house employers value, both substantively and culturally. We provide strategic counsel to help our candidates differentiate themselves in a highly competitive environment. From resume refinement and interview preparation to thoughtful follow-up and offer evaluation, we position our candidates to compete effectively and advance with confidence.
