Placing Satisfied Attorneys
Since 1997
Selective. Satisfied.
Trense Group has been placing attorneys throughout the nation in major cities as far apart and as diverse as Los Angeles and Washington, D.C. including locations in between such as Denver, Houston, Birmingham and Nashville. We are particularly knowledgeable about the Atlanta and Charlotte legal markets.
The fact that we do not have a physical location in your area does not preclude us from sourcing attorneys or placing them in any market in the United States. Our flexible business model affords us the latitude to respond to the needs of outstanding clients and candidates wherever they are or desire to be.
Trense Group boasts a track record of consistently delivering results for a law firm and in-house candidates that spans three decades. One of the reasons for our success is that we offer a highly personalized and responsive approach to serving our candidates’ needs.
We take the time to listen to and get to know our candidates. This approach allows us to package our attorney candidates in a materially different way that anticipates the needs of the hiring authority and distinguishes the Trense Group candidates from all others.
By investing the time necessary to know our candidates, we are able to add value in two critical ways. One is by presenting them in a way that enhances their likelihood of securing an interview and subsequent offer. Two is by equipping them to make a more fully informed decision as between competing offers.
At the Trense Group, we believe that our candidates’ highest and best use is the practice of law, not the time-consuming search for the ideal attorney job. With nearly three decades of legal recruiting experience and hundreds of attorney placements to our credit, the Trense Group knows what legal employers want.
Moreover, we are experts at advising our candidates on how they can distinguish themselves from the competition. From resume advice to interview preparation and follow-up, candidates represented by the Trense Group have a leg up on the competition.
Associates
The firms that we typically work with desire candidates with large firm credentials. The vast majority of these firms expect to interview candidates who graduated from the top 20% of their law school class and had law review and/or moot court experience.
If you have an exceptional background that does not necessarily fit this highly selective profile, please contact us as well.
Because we focus on placing attorneys who possess large firm credentials, many of our candidates don’t require the assistance of a recruiter to find a job. Rather, they need a recruiter to inform their decision and assist them in avoiding a mistake.
At the Trense Group, we specialize in managing the expectations of our candidates in order to minimize disappointments and maximize pleasant surprises. If you are interested in an objective, no-obligation consultation, please feel free to text, call or email. All inquiries will remain strictly confidential.

Partners
Most of the partners whom we place control a substantial book of business, typically in excess of $1-2 million. As a consequence, their highest and best use is practicing law not searching for an ideal fit. While these partners are managing their practices, we give them advice on their career options and tell them how to maximize their market value by effectively packaging them and negotiating for the perks that are important to their practice and well being.
Trense Group has perfected the process of packaging a partner candidate in a way that maximizes the likelihood that the most selective and desirable firms will take notice and be interested. We understand what our clients want in addition to how their hiring process works. As a result, we are able to consistently prepare our partner candidates in a way that will streamline what might otherwise be a disjointed and time-consuming process.
Because we have conducted a number of successful partner placements, we are well versed in advising you on your market value and what you can do to further maximize it.
Effective legal search firms add value to their partner candidates by preparing them to negotiate from a position of strength. Often, this involves making sure that they have more than one offer or leveraging the success of an initial offer to further their chances of obtaining additional, competitive offers.
Recruiters can take positions that candidates may or may not be comfortable expressing because the candidate runs the risk of burning a bridge with those with whom he or she will be working for many years to come.
Because our experience spans three decades, we are uniquely positioned to advise partner candidates on what to avoid in addition to what to expect. After all, the rewards and risks of partnership at one firm may differ greatly from the rewards and risks of partnership at another, seemingly similar firm.
In-House
Quality in-house opportunities are among the most coveted in the legal market. As a consequence, landing such a position can be exceedingly difficult, particularly without the assistance of a knowledgeable recruiter.
The Trense Group knows what in-house employers want. Moreover, we are experts at advising our candidates on how to distinguish themselves from the competition. From resume advice to interview preparation and follow-up, candidates represented by the Trense Group have a leg up on the competition.
